In many residential and commercial situations, it is important to control who has access into which areas, and when. This control can be provided in a number of different ways, depending on the level of sophistication required. Is this merely a convenience so as not to have to use a key in the lock, or is it a question of specific employees being allowed into certain areas of a business only during specified time frames? Is it important to know who went through any given door in a business and at what time?
Just as important, home access can be controlled in a similar way. Baby-sitters and cleaning personnel can be allowed access at specified times, while only family members are allowed 24 hour access.
